March 20 & 21 Happy Birthday and Transferred to Bosque

March 20, 2018 – Response to my Happy Birthday Email.  We had been gone to California for Spring Break and got home really late so I just sent a quick Happy Birthday note figuring he wouldn’t get transferred because his companion went home.  I was surprised and a little sad that I didn’t write or send pictures but happy to see that he is in for some new adventures.

Hey we have changes on Tuesday now but I got changed to I'm heading back to Oaxaca in an area called Bosque in the Amapolas stake

March 21, 2018

Dear mom and everyone,

So, I’m getting changed again. On Wednesday President called me to tell me that he wants me to go to an area in the City to get my headaches checked, so I'm going to be a zone leader in the Amapolas stake. It’s the nicest part of the mission so I should have a lot of fun. So, this week was just going around getting everything ready for the changes and we had to really cool activities so I’ll talk about those.
On Wednesday, we went to a part member family that we have been working with. They have been working on getting married for a while so the husband can get baptized. We talked to them about their plans and that they need to follow through with them. We left them in a really good spot for the next elders. After the lesson the bought us tlayuda. On Thursday we went to some recent converts to pick up some embroidered ties that she had made for us I’ll take a picture of them later because I already packed. Then we went and got everything ready for the activity we had on Friday.
Friday, we had a talent show it was a lot of fun There was a lot of people there about we had 4 or 5 people bring nonmember friends. Loosle play sax and they did a lot of dancing it was a lot of fun. That was the first ward activity they had since the earthquake and it turned out really well.
Saturday was a really fun day for missionary work. For the RS anniversary all the sister went out to talk to everyone they could to invite them to a fireside they would have that night. We went out and helped the sisters showing them what to do it was a lot of fun and the new guys will have a lot of referrals from it. Then for lunch as a good bye to both of us a few members and recent converts took us to lunch at a really good seafood place called La Tequita. I got stuffed shrimp that were super good.
Sunday Loosle had to leave early to help with some secretary stuff so he left right after sacrament meeting. I’m staying with Elder Bills and we just cleaned up and packed up. Today we finished up everything and we are going to dinner with a member which should be fun. Oh, and I bought a really cool "painting" the Greg Olsen last supper I’ll send that soon too.
Oh, and a sister had us make calzones for lunch it was fun and tasty. I had made the salsa.

Well I love you all enjoy the photos!!"!
 Saying Goodbye to Elder Loosle

There is lots of "Missionary Lingo" and Customs as a Missionary.  So when its time for a missionary to go home, it's a known fact that the companion "kills" his companion.  Well, since Elder Loosle was going home, Elder Olsen got to "kill him" and have a "funeral". This is all in fun and tradition.

March 14, 2018 Lots of Interviews

Dear Mom and everyone

This was a busy week for us. Monday after writing we went and played pool again it was fun. Tuesday, we had divisions. I was with two other elders in my area. it was fun we had a lot to do because we working in two areas but it was fun we got everything done that we need to. Wednesday sent me shoes to get fixed they had to get restitched on the side but other than that they came out fine. Then in the afternoon president came out with us to work a little. That was cool he shared a lot of cool experiences that he had when he was younger. Then he took us to burger king. Thursday, we had another FHE with three investigators it was cool we talked about the gospel of Jesus Christ. Friday was crazy. In the morning I went to a place called Matias Romero to do an interview that is about 1hr 30mins from here. Then in the afternoon I went to a little town called Xadani (shadany) to do 2 more and my comp went to a place called Comitancillo to give a missionary training to the sisters in that branch and another DL. went to another place called Ixtapec to do an interview that was technically ours to do but we could. Then I came back to Juchitán to do another. We had 5 interviews to do and I ended up doing 4. That’s one of the best part to being a leader because you are really guided by the spirit and it helps to understand a lot of what you need to know. Saturday was normal, we tried iguana which was pretty good, then we had a normal day we had a few appt and a young adult came with us. He showed us to and old investigator that he knew and went with us to another appt. Sunday was cool. Not too many came to the church but an eternal investigator really opened up with us and we place a baptism date. Monday was kind of lame. we ended up having to help some other elder teach some of our old investigator from the other area we left but it was fine because they gave us tyludas. But that ended our p day early and we could write good. Well we have another appt tonight so I’ll talk about more of this week on Monday.

Love you all
It looks like he made meatballs

 Time for some new socks
 Fish Soup

Happy Birthday Elder Olsen!  The package arrived.  Thank you ldsExpress Delivery

March 5, 2018 Normal Week

Dear mom and everyone,

This week was fairly normal, nothing too exciting but it was a satisfying week. Monday, we Played pool after writing, that was fun. Tuesday, we had divisions. I stayed in our area and we had a fun day. There’s a family in our ward with a lot of problems with health and fighting and we started the divisions going with them to give a blessing. The son is a troublesome kid so we took him with up to a lesson and had a really cool lesson. We taught some new investigators and the Kid has a really good testimony and helped a lot in the lesson. We are going to take him with us more often. Then we ended the day by talking to his grandpa who isn't a member and we had a really good lesson with him talking about what his doubts are about the church.

Wednesday, almost everything fell through so we ended up contacting in a neighborhood that we hadn’t been in before. We got a few appt out of it so it was cool.

Thursday, I wend to do an interview for a young kid and he passed it. In the afternoon we talked with an old investigator and she now seems a lot more interested so well see what happens. We ended the day with an FHE with some members.

Friday, we went to the birthday party of our convert. It was a good time. We gave him ties and a cake.

Sunday was interesting, we were fasting and we had no idea what to do so we were in the house at like 730 and I just thought of some old investigators and we went to a kid that was just never home and we found him. Hard a cool lesson on the Book of Mormon and he now has a little bit more flexible schedule so we will be able to talk to him more.

I’m really excited to be in the Lords work and I love serving others.

I love you all
